Yǎng 养 means to raise, bring up, support, nourish, and shēng 生 means life, give birth, grow. It is often translated as nourishing life, and refers to lifestyle practices which allow one to live a long, healthy and happy life.

Holism in Chinese medicine sees the individual’s physical body, mental and emotional states, and the state of affairs in their life as one and the same; there is no separation. By integrating Western Medicine prevention practices, my goal is to optimize your overall health.

Acupuncture 针灸

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine, single-use needles into specific acupuncture points on the body. This regulates the flow of Qi 氣 and Blood 血. throughout the acupuncture channels, thereby initiating one's inherent ability to restore balance and alleviate pain.

A well-balanced acupuncture treatment treats you systemically.

Contemporary research indicates that acupuncture modulates the nervous, endocrine and immune systems.

Cupping 拔罐 & Gua Sha 刮痧

Cupping and Gua Sha therapy are ancient techniques that promote circulation, relieve muscle tension, and improve overall well-being.

Gua Sha increases micro-circulation, suppresses pain, reduces inflammation systemically, and promotes lymphatic drainage.

Cupping relieves muscular tension, releases fascial adhesions, and increases blood flow to the tissues.

Electro-Acupuncture 电针

Electroacupuncture is a form of acupuncture that combines traditional acupuncture with gentle electric stimulation. It inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines and is effective in reducing inflammation. Electroacupuncture has also been shown to decrease the systemic factors of inflammation by stimulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and improving blood flow.

Auricular Acupuncture 耳针

Ear acupuncture (EA), also known as auriculotherapy, is a variant of the traditional acupuncture in which needles or beads are placed in specific points on the ear. Research has shown its effectiveness in various conditions such as pain management, sleep issues, weight loss, controlling addictions, and smoking cessation. Studies showed that EA is effective to reduce pain even as a single treatment. One of the significant advantages of ear acupuncture is its ability to reduce pain with minimal side effects.

Herbal Therapy 中药

Chinese herbs are used within a formula consisting of different herbs, each with different properties to create a synergy which potentiates the effects of each herb, while mitigating potential side effects.

A wide range of concerns may be addressed and each formula personalized.

The modern pharmaceutical industry often extracts active chemical constituents from herbs, such as ephedra used in Ephedrine to treat asthma, which is extracted from the Chinese herb Máhuáng 麻黄.

San Fu Herbal Patches 三伏贴

Receiving Sanfutie during the hottest summer days is effective for cough, allergic respiratory diseases, asthma, cold hands and feet and arthritis, as the body constitution is strengthened to fight conditions considered cold" in TCM. Studies show that San-Fu-Tie could reduce the rate of disease recurrence when compared with western medicine, with less adverse effects.

​The sessions are on specific days each year to maximize the therapeutic effects.
